mm&d venture into new waters with OMESL

About the client

Based in Whitby, North Yorkshire, Offshore Marine Energy Services Limited (OMESL) provide static guard, chase and trawl sweep vessels and crews to the Offshore Oil, Gas, Energy and Marine sectors.

About the project

Having operated as Streonshalth Guard Vessel Services Ltd since 2011, in summer 2014 the company decided to re-brand as OMESL. M Media & Design Ltd (mm&d) have provided a wide-range of marketing services to OMESL in recent months, creating the company logo and building a new website to match the new branding.

The first steps involved meeting with OMESL to look at logo options and creating a brand that would be easily recognisable in a highly competitive industry. The new logo will be used on a broad range of mediums, from digital to vessel signage. Commenting on the development, Andrew Locker, OMESL Operations Manager;

From the offset we were delighted with what mm&d provided with the logo options. After careful consideration we decided to opt for the ‘O’ option as the icon would help create a strong identity.Communication has been clear all the way and they have gone above and beyond in terms of support and advice.

Once the final brand was signed-off, the next development was to build a website to promote to the company online. In an age when over 50% of website browsing is on either smartphones or tablet devices, it was important that the site was fully responsive. The site would highlight the services offered by OMESL, the current fleet as well as client testimonials.

We love the bright home page with the large image and scrolling services providing a great snap-shot of what we are all about. The navigation is clean and easy which is perfect for our target audience.

New social media pages have been set up which link in with the new site ensuring viewers are up to speed with the company’s latest news.

Further work has followed for OMESL, with new business cards to match the branding and clothing for staff and crew. Work will also begin in December on a new website for Lockers Trawlers, a family-run fishing business linked with OMESL.

Owain Jenkins, Business Development Manager at mm&d is hoping the project will lead to further work in this industry.

OMESL have been a pleasure deal with from start to finish. We have a strong background in Engineering but this specialist industry is new to us. We are really pleased with the final brand and website and look forward to forming a long-term relationship with Andrew and his team.
