MM&D builds links with the Wooden Spoon

Despite having to travel half way across the country, Directors Mark and Gavin have successfully secured a 2 year long design tender with the Wooden Spoon Children’s Charity. Since being founded in 1983, the Wooden Spoons children’s charity has dedicated its time to help disadvantaged children and young people across the British Isles live happier, richer lives.

Wooden Spoons Vision:

“Wooden Spoon exists to make a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children and young people through our commitment to quality charitable work.”

MM&D will play an integral role in promoting the awareness of the Wooden Spoon Children’s Charity at the various events that they will be running throughout the course of the 2 years, helping them increase their members from 9,000 to 18,000. MM&D think this is a great way for us to promote our design work and help promote such a unique charity.

Steels Engineering, part of the Redhall Group, has been a long-standing client of mm&d for over 4 years. Testament to the relation was back in February when the Redhall Group itself approached mm&d to tender for a rebrand project involving the newly formed Redhall Nuclear, Redhall Nuclear being the umbrella name for the take over merger of 3 companies; Chieftain Instillation, Jordan Nuclear and Steels Engineering.

We were delighted then when Business Operations Director for Rehall, Tony Goodenough, broke the news that the highly competitive tender had been won. The job, which is currently being rolled out, sees the complete rebrand of 5 sites across the UK under the Rehall Nuclear banner. It involves everything from stationary and company material to internal and external building graphics to vehicle and fleet wraps.

Tony had these word to say, “We’ve had a long standing association with M Media via our Steels Engineering arm. They have always delivered absolute quality in a very cost effective manor so we had no hesitation to involve them in the tender process. The guys presented a very good case to win it.”

Falcons winger Danny Williams joined M Media & Design to celebrate the launch of the 2010/2011 partnership. For the third year in a row mm&d have become official sponsor to the clubs community foundation. The foundation supports numerous activities that improve lives across the northeast through rugby and sport. Since its launch the scheme has engaged more than 20,000, both young and old.

mm&d directors, Gavin Hatton and Mark Skirving (pictured above), joined the Falcons on the pitch during half-time at a recent game to announce the renewal of the partnership. “We’re very proud to be supporting the Falcons Community Foundation. The work they do with people in the region is truly fantastic and we are genuinely pleased to be a part of it.” M Media will this year provide a wide range of design, print and branding totaling more than £3000.

In reply Melanie Magee, Falcons Community Manager, said “having their professional support as partners is a huge boost. As with all charities we have to make the most of the resources available to us. Past years have proved M Media to be an invaluable asset to the charity, and club in general. We’re delighted to have them back with us again!”

NHS is the latest big public sector name to see results with mm&d.

The task of rebranding NHS Coventry was originally handed over after beating a long list of firms to the tender. mm&d director Mark Skirving said “We were delighted to be working with an iconic name like the NHS. The original project remit was a very demanding one as it involved challenging some fairly robust preconceptions, but it was also an exciting one that turned out some pioneering results. Their choice in selecting M Media and the outcomes they are seeing have been great testament to our business model and what we are striving to achieve.”

MM&D has successfully tendered for and won a large contract with NHS Leeds, despite fierce competition from national design agencies. MM&D will develop a range of design concepts and marketing material to support the roll-out of the Project. The project aims to help reduce the adverse effects of substance misuse on the development of young people’s social, education and emotional growth and progress.

The new Project will support young people and families in the Leeds area by addressing individual needs to facilitate the re-integration into the community, school or training programme as appropriate. MM&D will play an integral role in promoting the programme and developing material to engage the target group.

M Media & Design create a vast amount of websites and logos for companies nationwide. When one of our directors was approached by the owner of Butterfly Giving to rebrand the logo, MMD saw this as the perfect opportunity to give back to the community.

Butterfly Giving is a charitable company which is dedicated to fighting teenage cancer by funding research projects and raising money to aid those diagnosed, it also helps people who are just curious about cancer and it gives tips on where to check and what to do if you find a lump or bump.

MMD were happy to design the new logo for Butterfly Giving as it is so close to the teams heart.

M Media & Design recently attended the prestigious 10th annual Best New Business Award Ceremony at the Cellnet Riverside Stadium.

Last year saw mm&d beat 100’s of companies to pick up the coveted Best Creative Business title. This year the mm&d team returned but in a very different capacity, as event sponsors.

mm&d director Gavin Hatton said “we were actually very flattered with the proposal to sponsor the marketing for the event. The awards are obviously for businesses under 3 years of age, hence we no longer qualify, however given the experience we had with winning the award the previous year and the fact it’s such an impressive night we were more than happy to be involved again. It’s just a fantastic occasion and a credit to the organisers.”
